DIESEL FUEL - GENERATORS
When diesel fuel is stored for an extended period {in excess of 90 days}, the fuel will begin to decay.
Oxidation, corrosion and the eventual organic growth within the fuel storage tank will cause problems
with filters, injectors and lead to engine failure or start-up failure. Aboveground fuel storage compounds
the risk because of condensation increasing the likelihood of accumulated water. When considering these “CRITICAL SYSTEMS”
the risk of system failure is not acceptable!
It would be highly advisable that a Fuel / Tank Cleaning Program be initiated as an intrigal part of every Preventative Maintenance Program.
